TCM Doctor and Qigong Master
Dr. Sara Chung started practicing acupuncture from a very young age under her father’s guidance and studied nine years at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), which is recognized as the most prestigious TCM university in China and one of the only three TCM universities worldwide recognized by the World Health Organization. Dr. Sara Chung also belongs to the longstanding lineage of Dr. Oliver Chung, who was the pioneer in the introduction of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Mexico in the 70’s. Dr. Chung makes great emphasis on Acupuncture and Qigong as part of Internal Martial Arts and TCM.
With over ten years of experience in China, Dr. Chung has had the opportunity of studying under the most prominent TCM doctors and Qigong healers in the country. As apprentice of Grandmaster Xu Mingtang, founder of the Kundawell Institute and creator of Image Medicine, as well as Master Olga Smirnova, Dr. Chung has been developing in ZY Qigong’s Medicine, which is recognized as the highest level of Qigong and includes elements from most of the schools. Moreover, under the teachings of her closest Master Liu Xuyang, Dr. Chung has become an initiated practitioner of the Sixth Generation of Bagua Zhang and has achieved the level of Qigong Shierlianshou Therapist Instructor. Qigong Shierlianshou is characterized by integrating the physical anatomy as well as the energy meridians of the body, it pursues health of body and mind in synchrony with the Universe and harmony with Nature.
Dr. Sara Chung graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a Medical Degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Tuina, and has completed her clinical practices at China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Wangjing Hospital and Huguosi Hospital in Beijing.
Dr. Chung often collaborates with the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) participating in clinical and theoretical translation. Additionally, she has been invited to perform demonstrations and share her experience in the Chinese Medicine or Qigong field in different medias like Beijing Television’s “Beijing Guest”, “Health Hall”, China Radio International, Confucius Institute China Culture Centre and others.
Her native language is Spanish, Dr. Sara Chung also speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.
